The Pivot Playbook has been authored by Rhod Ellis-Jones with input from colleagues and expert collaborators. Rhod is the founder and managing director of Ellis Jones, an Australian consultancy working across research, strategy, communication and design disciplines.
The Pivot Playbook emerged from a process of reflection which sought to define the common ingredients and recurring themes of Ellis Jones' best, multidisciplinary work.
What we determined is that every organisation needs to pivot in response to complex, intersecting challenges - and only by connecting people and fostering creativity will we achieve the necessary behaviour change.
Hence the structure and content of the playbook.
A guide that you can pick up whenever a challenge or opportunity emerges, and you want to make sure, within any particular constraints, you have considered the different factors and processes which can lead to success.
The Playbook is a prototype.
It may forever remain a work in progress - a living resource base that benefits from evolving theory and practice, and the triumphs and failures of real world application.
We hope, no matter where you are starting from, it helps.
